At UWC Thailand International School, we see our differences are our commonalities. Our community comprises students, staff, parents, boarders, and mentors from more than 70 nationalities with no dominant culture. Our school is founded on the fundamental principle of providing a caring, supportive, and joyful environment that allows all individuals to grow. We see the well-being of each and every individual as both a personal and collective responsibility. Each morning, the Head of School or a member of the leadership team greets students as they arrive. Students address school staff using “Kru”, the traditional Thai title for teacher, followed by their first name.

Through an open-minded and thoughtful approach to education, the school aims to develop international and intercultural understanding. We actively encourage our community to engage in and reflect upon discussions across profound differences—locally, regionally and globally—to develop an appreciation of others’ perspectives. In so doing they not only gain an understanding of the diversity that exists within the world, but also our common humanity.

We provide students with a morning and afternoon snack and a full buffet-style lunch. Along with a selection of hot dishes, there is also a daily salad bar. Food is locally sourced and organic when possible. The school community is diverse, and the school caters for the wide variety of dietary needs.

Our campus is spacious yet enclosed, giving students of all ages the opportunity to explore their surroundings and take risks in a secure and safe environment. In terms of transportation, our students have the option of taking the school bus to and from campus daily. The route depends on the level of interest in this service.

The Ministry of Education requires 180 days of instruction for Kindergarten to Grade 12 per school year, with at least six hours of instruction per day. School usually starts on the second week of August every year, and the academic year generally ends on the second last week of June.

Our sprawling campus features dedicated buildings for Early Childhood, Lower Primary, Upper Primary and Secondary students. The campus is also home to a gymnasium, an outdoor Futsol pitch and basketball court, a multi-purpose hall, cafeteria, drama room, music rooms, health centre, library, student-run cafe, uniform shop, and a Mindfulness Centre.

UWC Thailand International School is a not-for-profit school affiliated with neighbouring Thanyapura Health and Sports Resort. It is through this partnership that our community enjoys access to incredible sports and wellness facilities; and that students have the opportunity to take part in both Junior Development Programmes and High-Performance Sports Programmes, depending on their sporting interests.

Thanyapura is an integrative health and sports centre and is fast becoming the sports hub of Asia. Their facilities include luxury hotels and restaurants, four swimming pools, six tennis courts, a running track with full-size rugby field, two performance gyms, and fitness studios.
