FOOD & NUTRITION

The Food Committee at UWCT follows these goals and guidelines:
- To achieve, support, and maintain a healthy body while at school.
- To provide a healthy school menu that provides a wide variety of nutritious foods.
- To educate the UWCT school community on healthy eating habits and sustainable choices
If you have any questions or concerns about the food and nutrition at school, please contact food@uwcthailand.ac.th.
Nut and Allergy Awareness
To ensure a balanced diet is achieved for all dietary requirements, nuts and seeds are included in the school menu, with the exception of peanuts. All efforts will be made to protect the health and safety of those allergic to nuts/seeds through education of the individual, the relevant teachers, and the class. If your child has an allergy, food intolerance or special dietary requirements, please let the Admissions staff (admissions@uwcthailand.ac.th) and your child’s teacher know.

We are committed to ensuring our food is prepared and stored safely. Senior kitchen staff are HACCP certified.
The Food Committee works with students and staff to get their input into the menu. A recent initiative has been International Fridays, where a cuisine from different countries and cultures is showcased each Friday.
The UWC Guiding Principles state that physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle are integral to the balanced development of the whole person. This is reflected in the school’s motto ‘Good Heart, Balanced Mind, Healthy Body’. The balance between healthy eating and physical exercise is valued, and the school provides many opportunities for physical activity. UWCT is committed to providing healthy choices, with staff and parents encouraged to lead by example.
When you bring food into school for birthdays, class parties, bake sales etc, please follow the Healthy Food Guidelines.
