UWC first came to life in postwar 1962 at the hands of educational pioneer, Round Square, and Outward Bound founder Kurt Hahn. Today, UWC has 18 international schools and colleges on five continents. Duke of Edinburgh International Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award was founded in United Kingdom in 1956, by Prince Philip or known as Duke of Edinburgh. The award is now recognized in 140 countries as it is aiming for youths and adolescents to participate in self-improving exercises that develop multiple-intelligences of the participants as outlined in Kurt Hann’s solution to “Six Declines of Modern Youth”.
The award is recognized for its effects in promoting self-discovery, self-reliance, commitment and altruism. The accomplishment of these awards will enable participants to be recognized world-wide for their ability to handle multiple-task and great initiatives in life which are necessary for being responsible individuals and good global citizens.
