Results and Pathways

While we value and celebrate achievement in many ways outside a final course result, we also understand that these scores are important in enabling our students to successfully take their next steps. Many prospective parents understandably ask about our International Baccalaureate Diploma scores and university destinations because these are tangible measures which demonstrate how student learning at UWC Thailand compares against other international schools. While the scores below are used in consideration for university entrance, UWC Thailand knows, as all parents do, that students cannot be summarised by a two-digit number. Our students are change-makers with depth of character, grit and initiative. They have shown the world what we already knew—there is nothing average about any UWC graduate!

Scholarships Offered

Each UWC Thailand graduating class averages a total of millions of US dollars in scholarship aid awarded!

The vast majority of scholarships offered are for attendance to four-year university programmes in the United States.

Graduate University Acceptances

Our graduates are change-makers with depth of character, grit and initiative. They have shown the world what we already knew—there is nothing average about them. Collectively they tend to score almost five points higher than the global IB Diploma Programme average and have matriculated to colleges and universities in Europe, Asia, Australia and USA. The Davis United World Scholars Programme offers scholarships to UWC graduates who are accepted by one of over 90 partner institutions in the US – including Yale, Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Vassar, Columbia, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Duke, Dartmouth and MIT. This ensures UWC students demonstrating financial need are also supported through university. Alternatively, to further live the values they have embraced at UWC Thailand, some of our students opt to take a gap year and work with a variety of projects, companies or NGOs prior to attending university.

Scholarships Offered

In 2021, our 45 graduates were offered $3.8million in scholarships. Over US$5.2million was offered to our 45 graduates in 2020, over US$5.6million was offered to our 58 graduates in 2019 and over US$6.4million was offered to our 53 graduates in 2018 for their university attendance across the globe. The vast majority of scholarships offered was for attendance of four-year programmes.

Our Graduates

Over the past few years, our graduates have scored well above the international averages on DP exams, and we have helped students choose their best path forward whether that is to a liberal arts college or Ivy League School, an international internship or a service-based gap year.

Most importantly, our graduates are young people that we are proud to send out into the world as ambassadors for UWC Thailand because they are great human beings.

Here are some stories that capture our graduates lives beyond their UWC Thailand experience:

Alumni Interview

Bolin, from China

UWC Thailand class of 2021

As the UWC Thailand  class of 2021 goes forth into the world, it is a great time to reflect on the journey that they have had and what it means to be an IB diploma student at UWC Thailand.

‘The UWC experience is unique. Through offering cross-cultural community, a focus on change-making, and the academic rigour of the International Baccalaureate Diploma, UWC schools and colleges provide an education like no other.’

However, what does that mean, feel or even look like?

As the 2021 graduates go out into the world, we share their journey and the UWC experience they have experienced during these two years at UWC in Thailand, with their permission.
