UWC Thailand International School is accredited by a number of leading educational organisations the world over. These include CIS, the IB and EARCOS. In order to maintain its accreditation, UWC Thailand regularly partakes in evaluation visits. The school is honoured to be certified by the following educational organisations and government offices:


United World College (UWC)

UWC first came to life in postwar 1962 at the hands of educational pioneer, Round Square, and Outward Bound founder Kurt Hahn. Today, UWC has 18 international schools and colleges on five continents. The majority of UWC’s focus exclusively on the 16-19 year-old age group, when young people’s energy and idealism can be guided towards empathy, responsibility and lifelong action.

East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS)

The East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS) is an organisation of 165 member schools in East Asia. EARCOS inspires adult and student learning through its leadership and service. It fosters intercultural understanding, global citizenship, and exceptional educational practices within its learning community.

The Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA), Thailand

As stipulated in Section 81 of the 1997 constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, a national education law is required; hence the drafting of the 1999 National Education Act, which became effective on August 20, 1999. ONESQA is established with the aims of developing the criteria and methods for external quality assessment; assessing educational achievements in order to check the quality of educational institutions, bearing in mind the objectives, principles and guidelines for educational provision at each level as stipulated in the national education law. www.onesqa.or.th

Ministry of Social Development and Human Security

International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO)

UWC Thailand is authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organisation. As an IB School, we offer the Primary Years, Middle Years, and Diploma Programmes. IB learners strive to become inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, openminded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective.


UWC Thailand introduced the Arrowsmith Program in 2015, and is the only international school in Thailand to offer it. The programme is suitable for students aged 9-18. Arrowsmith is based on the application of neuroscientific research to help students strengthen weak cognitive capacities underlying a range of learning difficulties.


Member of ISAT (International Schools Association of Thailand)

ISAT works with all of the government ministries to build understanding of the benefits of international education in Thailand. ISAT is more than just a link between the 128 member schools and government, as ISAT continues to promote quality international school education to foster quality education in all schools in Thailand. UWC Thailand is a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS). CIS is a community committed to high quality education that aims to connect ideas, cultures, and educators from every corner of the world. CIS currently includes 1,300 institutions representing 116 countries.

World Academy of Sport

As a school affiliated with the World Academy of Sport, UWC Thailand International School offers students who excel in swimming and triathlon a modified academic programme. Duke of Edinburgh International Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award was founded in United Kingdom in 1956, by Prince Philip or known as Duke of Edinburgh. The award is now recognized in 140 countries as it is aiming for youths and adolescents to participate in self-improving exercises that develop multiple-intelligences of the participants as outlined in Kurt Hann’s solution to “Six Declines of Modern Youth”.

The award is recognized for its effects in promoting self-discovery, self-reliance, commitment and altruism. The accomplishment of these awards will enable participants to be recognized world-wide for their ability to handle multiple-task and great initiatives in life which are necessary for being responsible individuals and good global citizens.
